well, after i came back from kk, as promised, brought kooilee and desmond to a shop that i bought my canon 5dmk2 to get her 500d for shooting video.
since i've touched calvin's 500d, i'm in loved with it. it was so good!
desmond have to accept the facts that the 500d is better than the 40d... LOLZ!

in term of performance, 40d is better than 500d except the movie only, and convieniece than 500d...
just compare the picture quality, lets dont talk about the built quality and the shutter speed, ISO and noise control is very important for me, so i say the 500d is good, and its small, suits girls, convenience indeed.

well, it depends, for me, since i have the 5d and the 5dmk2, i'm not a fast shooter like i need 10 frame per second, so, i go with the 500d. but i must admit that, 40d built quality is indeed better. ISO.... 40d max is 3200.... sorry, i need the iso.

somemore extra pixel mean more noice..u need a good lens to maximize the 15mp...
U get better built quality (magnesium vs plastic), better intuitive layout (xxD comes with a dial and a joystick at the back rather than the 4 way button of 500D), a very helpful LCD counter on top (u can save precious battery life if u need to adjust settings-with 500D u have to rely on the back LCD only), better fps-6.5 as oppose to 3.4 (crucial if u want to catch action sequences such as sports).

sorry for not stated what i said that which my friend Desmond admit that 500d is better than the 40d, he only admits that the picture quality and the noise boosting and the megapixel and the movie mode is better, and WHICH is what we need for our field in our style of photography, sorry, not a sports shooter nor a machine gun user~ peace.
yea, i do agree point of view from both of u.
Sometimes ppls need something that can produce a better pictures quality, better noise reduction/control of the camera sensor...and some ppls do need better quality build of the camera & also better Frame rate per sec.
So my question is...does a better quality build of camera & high FPS would lead u to create a better quality pictures..is that a 100% GUARENTEED?
As u meantion sport photography do need FPS to capture/ freeze action that u wanted (mayb u love to shoot sports) isit better get a better fps camera like 1dmarkIII instead of 40D...
actually im join this talk is juz want to say what i feel.... every1 got their own style & in what they interested in...its pointless we want to keep on comparing this bad this good..use this will make ur picture look more better..bla bla bla.... why dont we juz get along with what we've right now..i think ppl will prefer we do a healthy comparison & share gr8 artworks, masterpiece photo, IDEAS n etc. Dont you think its will be better than keep comparing d design & technology of every dslr. Every year 'they' are keep producing new technology and they will never stop of PRODUCING to fullfill whats d consumer needs.
what the right technics & skills combine with creative Ideas, i do believed that even a person with a compact camera can capture a beautiful pictures compare to other dslr users...do u believe in that ?
