i understand bcoz i RESPECT

okay, i'm a buddhist, but i know the stories from Bibles and i know the history of Islam more than i know my own religion stories and teachings. and sometimes, some of my friends will ask me, what do you do in wesak day? whatz that for? okay, when i heard question like these, i know that, buddhistsm is no "cool" factor like last time. alot of new age youngster say praying to asian gods is just a supersticious? it ain't cool anymore, even their parents still into buddhistsm, their new links now are like, i'm a free thinker...... whatz that mean? let me tell you.... coz itz not cool!

wesak day is just to celebrate the birth, enlightenment and the passing away of Gautama the Buddha.
i'm supprised to see many ppl still come here....
offering the flowers to the buddha
he is not wishing the god can give him anything, but pray that his familly will live happily and harmony

at least this dude still think it's cool.....
this little girl here, i think she has no idea what she is doing, just because her mom told her to come, then she come.....until you really understand the teaching of buddha, you'll will have a face which looks like this. there's no point comming here if you dono what and who you're praying to.
just before the buddha passed away, he saw his faithful attendant Ananda, weeping. the buddha advised him not to weep but to understand the universal law that all compounded things(including even his own body) must disintergrate. he advised everyone not to cry over the disintergration of physical body but to regard his teachings. he also stressed that the way to pay homeage to him was not merely by offering flowers, incense, and lights, but by truly and sincerely striving to follow his teachings.
devotees may bring flowers, candles and joss-sticks to lay at the feet their teacher(buddha).these symbolic offerings are to remind one that just as beautiful flowers would wither away after short while and the candles and joss-sticks would soon burn out, life is subject to decay and destruction in similar manner as the flowers.happy wesak day, amitabah~
